Mohamed Ismail Sherif Kwaku Frimpong professionally known as “Black Sherif or staged Blacko” is an award-winning Ghanaian-based artist, rapper, and a fashion model. Blacko is set to release his latest and much-anticipated album “Iron Boy” and as a snippet, he drops another sensational debut titled “So it Goes“ featuring Fire boy DML, this masterpiece depicts the concepts of constant and an unending burning desire of gain financial freedom, the whole idea connecting the power of consciousness pertaining everyday struggles and super work schedules is all as a result of comfortability, financial stability and most importantly being able to afford any thing at anytime without hindrance for people we love, with references in the stanza “I’m tryna put you in designers, fly you to Bahamas, Maldives, Jamaica, take you everywhere I go, show you mama Afrika from Ghana to Bafana” coherently Fire boy DML on the same page proves through
“I will never rest till I see mama smiling“ as part of the song expresses his gratitude to his mom and close relatives, and as a result of this, he will surely make them proud through his hustle (music) as an appreciation through his struggle days. Historically speaking, in the town where Black Sherif was born and raised has influenced most of his songs about life struggles and in search for financial stability, one could denote that the agony of poverty struck a place in his heart that he never wanted to return to that state of his life and has decided to make it through even if it costs him his time, energy and life, it is made evident in songs Like “Destiny” “money” released in 2020 which also gave him a spotlight in the industry.
Again, in an indisputable track “So It Goes”, the craftiness of the props and visualizations blend perfectly with the vocals and the kind of tone the musician exhibits in most songs performed by Blacko are written and sung in “pidgin”. This portrays the kind of hustler he truly is as a result of this, his songs get the recognition they deserve because of its relatedness and fan fact. His songs tend to get a lot of reactions from the youth, tending to find grounds for making it too. Gaining popularity in the fashion industry as well could be deduced from his dress and the kind of props he features in what he does, currently, he partners with an Italian brand “Ellesse” making him a model as well. Highlighting the turning point of Black Sherif`s “Kwaku the Traveler,“ a previous song that gave him international recognition and multiple times nominations and awards both nationally and internationally is magnificent and carried the same trend or issue, “financial pursuit,“ and “So it Goes” is no different from it too.
